Lamberto Bava is back at the helm and Argento is on production duties for this utterly demented sequel to the Italian horror classic.
The plot here remains the same, the only change being that this time an apartment block is exposed to the demonic infection rather than a cinema. Cue much demonic transformation mayhem and blood and slime fun.
Somehow, this one is more enjoyable than the first, though quite why that is is hard to explain as they are virtually the exact same film.
Would have got five out of five but for a really silly sequence with a baby demon chasing a pregnant woman around her apartment. The fucking thing looks like the human-lizard hybrid offspring from 'V', and makes a real high pitched keening sound that just grates. The whole sequence looks ridiculous and goes on for far too long.
Other than that, top class Italian horror from one of the masters.
