This is a grimy watch.
Slated by feminists for its graphic rape scenes, these people are missing the point entirely. This is about the triumph of woman over man, the strength of feminine will no matter the trials and debasements she is put through, the baseness and debauchery of weak men who act like animals, and only hunt in packs as they are cowards.
Anyway, rant over.
A woman goes to a quiet retreat in the woods for some peace and quiet. She has the misfortune of attracting the attention of some local yokels.
They hunt her, rape her, let her go, capture her and rape her again.
She eventually escapes their clutches, heads back to the house she was staying in, and plots their demise...
This is a difficult movie to watch. The rape scenes are lurid and convincing, and will stay with you long after the movie has ended, and the viciousness of the men's behaviour is just shocking.
This is a good film though, whose reputation has doubtless been enhanced by the 'video nasty' tag attached in 1984.
Not for the meek.
