Favourite line:"Honeybun! This machine just called me an asshole!"

Stephen King directed this silly slice of sci-fi horror hokum, based on his own short story, 'Trucks'.

The Earth is passing through the tail of a comet, and will be for several days, and during that time it seems that machinery has become sentient, and they are pretty pissed off too.
As the very things mankind invented to make life easier turn against them, a band of people holed up in a remote diner must band together in order to survive, even at times obeying the instructions of the very machinery that seems hellbent on destruction - a great sequence in which the trucks instruct the people within the diner to refuel them.

It's all complete nonsense, of course, but it never pretends to be anything else.
The cast is likeable enough, though hardly Olivier, and the plot just about has the legs for the hour forty running time.
Not essential, by any means, but not as bad as reviews would have it either.
