Favourite line:"I'm gonna suck your brain dry!"

Classic paranoid Cronenberg dealing with telepathy and telekinesis.

Scanners are a tiny minority of people who have the power both to control people's minds, and actually physically harm them without touching them.
The movie focuses on the distrust that 'normal' people would have if such a group of people were actually present on the planet.
The Scanners are forced underground, and world governments are genuinely terrified by the power that they wield.

A dark, sinister and intense offering from Cronenberg, with one of the most famous scenes in horror - the head burst.
Michael Ironside is typically menacing, this is well worth a watch.
