One of the most hyped movies of the past few years, this is the very epitome of high concept cinema:
"What if someone unleashed a bunch of poisonous snakes on an aeroplane at 35,000 feet". Well, yeah, what if.
With a premise that should render this impossible to do badly, this is borderline atrocious.
The biggest downfall here is lack of humour, though they did try I'm sure. If a movie is labelled horror comedy, there's two essential ingredients. Horror and, yep, you guessed it, comedy and sadly, both are blatantly absent. Ok, some of the snake scenes are effectively handled, but in general the 'scares' involve lots of shaky camera work and people running around and screaming. There's no menace, no sense of fear (though given the situation, this should have been easily instilled).
To say this is disappointing is a massive understatement.
Not even the usually reliable Samuel L. Jackson can save this slippery beast.
