An argumentative couple whose relationship is on its last legs find themselves stranded in Nowheresville, USA.
The husband decides to turn off the Interstate to try to find a shortcut, and they end up lost, with a broken down car. Reluctantly, they check in to a motel, where all is not as it seems. The owner is a voyeuristic sort, with a penchant for producing snuff movies, with his guests as the stars.
Tense and claustrophobic to begin with, this is a nice setup, only slightly ruined by the loss of atmosphere when the couple get out of the room they are trapped in.
Some good performances - especially from the wiry, perverted motel owner - this is above average Hollywood horror.
