Favourite line:"Welcome to the Waxwork."

Anthony Hickox's riotous send up of the anthology format sees the ever excellent David Warner playing the sinister Mr Lincoln, owner of a new waxwork museum that has moved into town.
A bunch of 'teens' (twenty somethings!) are lured to a private showing, and discover that all is not as it should be; the exhibits themselves are portals in time, each one depicting a particularly grisly chapter from a historical murderer / dictator / monster of one type or another, and they themselves are due to be fodder for the maniacs.
The format allows for a myriad of situations, and each is staged admirably, my personal favourite being the vampires who are feasting on the flesh of a poor unfortunate they have locked in the basement.
It's all very over the top, all very tongue in cheek and the ending in particular is chaotic to say the least.
Great fun from beginning to end, this is an under-rated classic.
