Bigger budget = bigger effects and set pieces, as well as more and better fight scenes.
Whilst making the sequel bigger isn’t always a good thing, in this case it works because it just adds to all of the elements that made the first movie pretty decent in the first place.
The Reapers swarming through the tunnels look great, and the face peeling scenes are excellent.
Pretty gory too for a mainstream movie, and del Toro's sinister direction is a real treat.
Not a bad effort.
