Favourite line:"Victims; aren't we all?"

Perhaps the ultimate goth movie.
Along with, say, Trainspotting and The Matrix, this is one of those movies that truly defines an era, as everyone and anyone into 'dark' music just couldn't get enough of this when it first hit the screen.
Made infamous by the fact that Brandon Lee died on set whilst shooting the movie, this is a visual treat, all sweeping camera angles pouring over gothic architecture, every surface dripping wet as the heavens vent their fury.
Stylistically, this is the bastard child of Frank Miller and Tim Burton, but this is more than a simple case of style over substance. Spilling over with quotable lines, whilst the tale it weaves is the oldest of them all; revenge, it is the journey itself that makes this such outlandish entertainment.
Lee himself is perfect as The Crow, Eric Draven in another life, his square-jawed good looks and sculpted body just what is required. And he gets all the best lines too, whether quoting Edgar Allen Poe or simply taunting his victims before spilling their blood.
The soundtrack that plays almost constantly in the background, very much the pulse of the movie, is just excellent featuring tunes from such goth / industrial luminaries as The Cure, Nine Inch Nails and Helmet, as well as a host of others.
Self-consciously cool and stylish, this really is one of those movies you will either love or hate and, frankly, I fall firmly in the latter camp.
Possibly the movie I have seen more than any other (only Aliens and Zombie Flesh Eaters come close) this is a genuine classic, and just gets better and better with each viewing.
Excellent.
