Tim Burton's bizarre, gothic fairytale focuses on Johnny Depp's titular character, created by a maniacal inventor who had the misfortune to pass away before completing his masterpiece. Depp's Edward was left with scissors in the place where his hands should be (exactly why he put scissors there in the first place I'm not quite sure, so don't ask).
A kindly 'Avon Lady' happens upon the mansion in which he lives alone, and takes him under her wing. Soon, he is living as part of her family, cutting people's hair with his strange appendages, and even falling in love. All goes well, until Edward is framed for robbery, and people's opinions of the deformed freak soon take a turn for the worse.

An interesting, touching, at times amusing tale, stamped with Burton's unique vision of the world.
