Stylistically similar to Miyazaki's much more recent 'Howls' Moving Castle', this follows the adventures of a young boy and girl who must use the power of a crystal in their possession to discover and unlock the secrets of a long lost civilisation, alive and well on, you guessed it, Laputa - The Castle in the Sky.
The animation is exemplary for the time (this is over twenty years old now so some accomodation has to be made if it doesn't look as 'modern' as others in the field) and the power of the imagination is just awesome.
Miyizaki seldom hits any bum notes, and this movie is no exception.
Beautiful, astonishing and entertaining, this should delight all.
Brilliant.
