Visually stunning, imaginative and inventive fantasy from del Toro.

Set in Franko's Spain, a young girl, whose village is occupied by Spanish fascists, discovers that she is a Princess of the Underworld, and must complete three tasks in order to gain access to her birthright.
Running parallel to this is a plot about the Spanish fascists hunting the local Resistance and, inevitably, the two storylines merge.

So much happens, there is so much imagination, and so many ideas this is a must see movie.
Perhaps a shade long in some of the 'real world' sequences, otherwise this would have got top marks.
