The eponymous trophy hunter from the original movie may well be mince meat, but that's not to say he doesn't have buddies to continue the slaughter.
Los Angeles, 1997, and a drug war is spiralling out of control.
In the midst of a shoot out between rival gangs something occurs that sends shockwaves through the city as corpses are ripped asunder. As each day goes by, more bodies are found, many with skulls and spinal columns ripped clean out.
The only querstion is: Can Sergeant Murtaugh stop the alien menace without help from Officer Riggs?
It's hokey as hell, and has a script as shaky as my Grandad when he forgets to take his meds, but somehow it all works.
The same can be said of Danny Glover. This is a man seemingly incapable of acting, who plays the same character in whichever movie he happens to be in at the time, yet is a genuinely compelling presence on screen.
And as for the ending?
I won't ruin it, but it's a great pay off.
Dumb but fun sci-fi action that I enjoyed more than I think I should.
