Year:2000
Country of origin:USA / Canada
Director:Roger Spottiswoode
Genre:Clone based actioner
Starring:Arnold Schwarzenegger, Michael Rapaport, Wendy Crewson
Rating:3/5

Tagline:Are You Ready!
Favourite line:"We've all been killed before."

Set in the near future, Arnie plays Adam Gibson, a chartered helicopter pilot who takes people on tours of the local mountains.
He's hired to take a VIP named Drucker on a tour, but switches with his partner as he has a prior engagement, unbeknownst to Drucker, who just happens to be the foremost authority in the world on cloning. When an arch opponent of cloning kills everyone on board the chopper, Gibsons life is turned upside down due to a case of mistaken identity. The Company still think he was the one on board the helicopter, and clone him, despite this being against the law. When he returns home to discover his own clone already there he is understandably confused, and things only get worse as a sinister group turn up on his doorstep and try to kill him.

Action packed throughout, this comes off as a mixture of Gattaca and Total Recall, though it is not quite as good as either of those movies.
The plot is reasonably involved, and is at times a little hard to follow, though all becomes clear by the end.
Spottiswoode's direction is spot on for the action, but falls a little flat during the dialogue sequences, particularly when we have two Arnie's on screen at the same time.
Never entirely convincing, this is nevertheless a decent slice of sci-fi lite action.
