Effective and dramatic remake of John Carpenter's 1976 cult favourite sees Ethan Hawke playing a frustrated, jaded and 'upper' addict cop, scheduled to work New Years Eve with his skeleton staff at Precinct 13. They are expecting a quiet night until a prison van is diverted to their cells due to a snow storm.
One of the prisoners, Marion Bishop (played with assurance by Laurence 'Morpheus' Fishburne) is a Mafia boss. It's not long before formidably armed men are attacking the police station, determined to get to Bishop, but are they trying to rescue him, or trying to kill him?

Well played by all, with some real tension built up throughout, this is a stylish thriller that most should enjoy.
