Favourite line:"I'm gonna ask you some simple questions. You're gonna tell me the truth or I swear to God I'm gonna kill ya."

In a direct continuation of the first movie, the only major chance here comes in the form of the director at the helm with the always impressive Paul Greengrass (United '93, Bloody Sunday) taking over the lens duties.

The action is hotting up as Bourne learns more tantalising clues about his true identity, and why it is that the sinister Treadstone are keen to extinguish his life.

The direction is razor edged, Greengrass' trademark close-up, in the action style really suiting this, and the action set-pieces are simply stunning.
Some people frown at car chases, the great big buffoons, clearly never having seen them through eyes unclouded by snobbery, but Greengrass holds no such pretentions, dazzling the viewer with one of the best car chases ever to grace the cinema screen.
Damon is on crackling form, too, especially after the death of his lover, Marie, the girl he inadvertantly got wound up in the whole sorry mess in the first place by bribing her for a ride to Paris in the original. Angered by her death yet knowing that, in some small way at least, her blood is on his own hands, his becomes a brooding figure.
I have to confess to becoming a little lost in places, plot wise, but I get confused with Bond, so no great surprises.
As far as action thrillers go, this is right up there.
