Favourite line:"I feel good today, Silent Bob, we're gonna make some money, then you know what we're going to do? We're gonna go to that party, we're gonna get some pussy, and I'm gonna fuck this bitch, I'ma fuck this bitch, I'll fuck ANYTHING THAT MOVES!

Excellent character piece from Kevin Smith.
Indeed, this is his directorial debut, and a more assured debut you will be hard pressed to find.

The story follows two down and out shopkeepers, Dante who works in a convenience store, and Randal who works in the video shop next door.
Dante feels the whole world is against him, and bemoans his bad luck constantly.
Randal is more philosophical, believing that we make our own luck and need to make efforts to change our lot in life.

The character interplay is superb, the language foul, and some of the scenes are hilarious. This is also the movie that introduced the world to Jay and Silent Bob, and for that alone it is worth watching.
Excellent.
