Favourite line:"Bless me, Father, for I have just killed quite a few men."

Wildly improbable actioner from Robert Rodriguez.

Antonio Banderas is a guitar playing Mariachi (a musician), who seeks revenge against the drug lord who ordered the murder of his lover, as well as causing his fret board hand to be mutilated, rendering him incapable of playing to his previously high levels.

The violence is intense, though comic book and non-realistic - and there are some stunning sequences, with lead flying, glass spraying, and blood spouting.
Rodriguez mainstay Salma Hayek provides the love interest, but the real fun in this movie is watching the outlandish action sequences.
Highly enjoyable, if utter nonsense. A no brains funride.
