Classy crime thriller which brings De Niro and Pacino together for the first time on screen. Superlative acting and cast drive a taut, tense plot about a gang of criminals intent on staging a major robbery at an LA bank.
The dynamics between the characters is superb, and the brutal, vicious moments of violence are very effective and stylishly handled.
The film does drag a little after the heist though, and can dwell too long on the more 'soap opera' elements than is strictly necessary.
Still, a fine movie from a top quality director.
