Dr. Powell: "And where is home?" Prot: "K-PAX." Dr. Powell: "K-PAX?" Prot: "It's a planet about 2,000 of your 'light-years' away." Dr. Powell: "I see...."

Kevin Spacey appears at a railway station as if from nowhere. He claims to be from the planet K-PAX, here to study what it is to be human. Inevitably, the authorities are none too convinced, and pack him off to a mental institution, where Jeff Bridges is assigned as his psychiatrist. Gradually, as the councilling sessions continue, Bridges becomes more and more obsessed by his new, oddball patient, to the detriment of his own family life.

Original and intriguing, this is a gentle movie that looks at the nature of humanity, as if through the eyes of an outsider.
Humourous, deep and spiritual, this won't be to everyone's liking, but if you want a movie that will make you question your very existence, this should do the trick.
