Tagline:The year is 2019. The finest men in America don't run for President. They run for their lives.
Favourite line:"Killian! I'll be back!"

Wilfully schlocky sci-fi nonsense based on a Stephen King novella, this sees Arnhult poured into a latex jumpsuit and forced to run for his very life.

It's the near future, and The Running Man is the most popular TV show on the planet. Contestants are hurtled into a 400 block territory which they have to escape from within a certain amount of time.
If they fail, death awaits.
The studio executives, always in search of new ways to entice viewers and maintain their ratings, are not above creating an elaborate web of lies and deceit to frame people for crimes they didn't commit, just to get them sent into The Running Man arena, and The Arnold is one such victim.

Gimmicky, at times infuriatingly childish, this is nevertheless great escapist cinema which, given the huge rise in popularity of reality TV was actually quite prescient. True, they don't actually kill people....yet.
Dumb yet exciting, this is a good sci-fi actioner.
