Tagline:Danger Suspense Excitement There must be when he's around
Favourite line: "You can't kill me, I'm already dead."

Efficient yet not particularly memorable Bond foray, this sees Brosnan taking on Robert Carlyle, and M in the front line of the action for once.
For every moment of inventiveness, there is a clear moment of desperation - the Cleese / Q sequence is frankly an embarrassment to the franchise - that, overall, leaves you as a viewer vaguely disatisfied at the conclusion.
Overtones of Bond of old - the ski sequence is eerily remininiscent of a similar scene in On Her Majesty's Secret Service, though not quite as good, of course - along with new fangled gadgetry - the helicopter mounted blades are a marvel, and bizarrely underused even in the action scene in which they feature - coupled with a Brosnan who seems to be coasting by this point, comfortable in his role though adding nothing new to the mix, sees this as an unspectacular, though eventful addition to the franchise.
Carlyle himself as bad guy Renard is effective enough, the twist here being a bullet lodged in his brain that renders him without sensation of any kind (I know that, erm, feeling.) Sophie Marceau is fucking useless as Elektra King, a wet fish of a performance that annoyed me more than should be feasible of one so delectable, though the usual protaganists coped capably with an undemanding script.
Average Bond that I won't be hurrying to see again.
