Part 8 here, and the first of the bunch to disappoint, though there are mitigating circumstances at work.

The plot:
Eric Weiss, formerly known as Peter Hertz, was saved from the evil clutches of the Nazi's in one o the earlier films - can't remember which one. They all kind of blur together after a little while.
Now, in present day, he has found the last pieces of information about puppet master extraordinaire Andre Toulon but, as he is putting affairs in order, he is accosted by a strange woman, Maclain.
Maclain insists that Toulon was psychotic, using his puppets for destructive ends, but Weiss says different.
Between them, they recount the events that have led them to the impasse they now find themselves in.

Something of a clip show, really, as there can only be twenty five minutes or so of new material, here, the rest being extracts of the previous movies to aid the narration. Though usually a sign of desperation, in truth this was an effort by series creator Charles Band to tie together the many disparate elements of the previous seven films, and to kill the beast once and for all.
Noble intentions, but it doesn’t really work as a viewing experience, and quickly grows tiresome.
Still, a must watch for any fan of the series, I suppose, but completists only need bother checking this one out.
A shame, really.
