Again, what we have here is an Italian horror movie which is so confusing and illogical in terms of plot line, that the plot actually becomes redundant and unnecessary.
Instead, the viewer sits patiently waiting for the next gruesome set piece, or for the next time the tension and suspense is cranked up.
The direction is flawless, and Bava has a real knack for making everryday objects appear malevolent.
Certainly not the best slicette of Italian horror I've ever seen, but far from the worst.
