Favourite line:"I can't be her mother...I don't know how to be myself!"

Decent if not amazing remake of a Japanese horror movie of some repute which, at the time of writing, I am yet to see.
A young woman in the throes of divorce moves into a grotty apartment with her young daughter. Soon it becomes apparent that all is not as it seems.
A mysterious patch of water is growing on the bedroom ceiling, and the daughter is speaking to an imaginary friend....
Interesting, if never utterly compelling, there are some genuinely spooky moments, but not enough momentum.
It never really gets going, and the ending is a little flat.
Still, there are worse ways to pass an hour and a half.
