An archaelogical team open up a crypt in which, legend has it, a cluster of nuns were stoned to death many years before.
Not the smartest thing to do, you have to say and, given that this is a Fulci movie, it is only a matter of time before the ghostly nuns start to get their unholy revenge.
Not as well received as his earlier works, this is still a stylish, gory shocker with enough imagination in the death sequences to keep the average gore fiend interested.
Highlights include a man being literally ripped in two, but not from side to side, from top to bottom, which is different and worth a laugh.
Also, an eye gouge scene of an old woman and her cat is good for a chuckle.
Certainly not Fulci's best movie, but far from awful.
