Well now, here we have another example of the Cannibal genre, a spate of which were released during the late 70's and early 80's.
And they're all a bit rubbish, really, and this is no exception.
This time around, a beautiful American woman treks off to New Guinea to try to locate and bring back her sister, who has become embroiled in a cult known as The Purification Sect, led by general nut-ball and sexual dynamo Jonas. Inevitably, once in New Guinea, all matters cannibalistic begin to ensue, as well as lots of natives running around the jungle in a seemingly random fashion.
The music is great, being prime Euro-sleaze, and sets the tone well.
It's gory too, though nothing we haven't seen in other cannibal movies (breast slicing, penis lopping etc) and, unpleasantly, there's the requisite animal mutilation which is just wrong on so many levels.
Cannibal movie completists should check this out, all others, avoid.
