Tagline: | Do you hate spiders? Do you really hate spiders? Well they don't like you either. |
Favourite line: | "They're not aliens they're spiders mutated by contaminated waste!" |
That hoary old chestnut involving toxic waste and mutant insects is rolled out for one more airing in this horror 'comedy' (though there is only one funny moment involving a huge female arachnid and a perfume spray).
A rural mining town finds itself overrun by giant spiders after they have been exposed to radioactive material.
And, erm, that's it.
It starts off well enough, with sinister glimpses of long furry legs and vicious looking palps, but quickly descends into a bunch of people running around shouting a lot, whilst the CGI takes over.
There are some good moments interspersed - the bikers being chased by the jumping spiders being my personal favourite - but this is slightly disappointing.
With a darker tone and better script it could have been disturbing but instead, by the end, it is just a little bit boring.
Oh well.
