Favourite line:"Goddamn, motherfucker got blood all over my best clown suit."

Borrowing liberally from a host of horror movies, this is a tour de force of sickness, directed by White Zombie's very own Rob Zombie.
Great imagery abounds - the semi-clad woman on the bed licking and fondling a skeleton, the sado-masochism with strobe effects, the zombies in the filthy water, and countless more besides - make this visually striking.
It's highly stylised, and very MTV at times, but effective, though traditionalists may be put off.
The plot is a blend of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Halloween and Hostel, but this hardly matters.
Those that know their horror lore will have fun spotting the influences - Halloween, Hellraiser, Phenomena, Fulci - and those that don't will just be in for an adrenaline ride of gore filled thrills.
I wasn't expecting much from this in truth, and it delivered way above my expectations.
Excellent.
