Favourite line:"Run Judy, run! See Judy run!"

With a movie title as magnificent as this, I was hoping for great things, and I got them.
Sort of.
Kevin Tenney's low budget classic is a real movie of two halves, the first forty five minutes spent establishing the 'characters' and the situation, with the remaining forty five spent dispatching people in a multitude of grisly ways.

The plot:
A group of horny 'teenagers' - seriously, most of these fuckers look in their mid thirties - decide to spend Halloween in a building that used to serve as a funeral parlour, the fools. If that wasn't bad enough, the place is allegedly cursed, a magical seal having been placed around it to keep the evil spirits within the boundary walls. Worst of all, these idiots know all of this and still proceed to go there to drink, smoke and fuck.
Fair enough, I guess.

Whilst the script and plotting is decent enough for this type of movie, one irritation is the characters' insistence on using the word party as a verb, something that riles me beyond reason. As luck would have it, though, the worst offenders of this crime meet their comeuppance soon enough. And that's a minor quibble, for sure of an otherwise engaging and enjoyable horror movie that has more than its share of blood and viscera, a nice line in black humour and a female cast only too willing to shed their clothes at the drop of a hat.
All good things, folks.
All good things.
Having spawned two sequels and something of a cult following, this is one movie all horror enthusiasts should check out.
A remake is penned in for release Halloween 2009 - will the sacrilege never end?
