Favourite line:"I'm an angel. I kill firstborns while their mamas watch. I turn cities into salt. I even, when I feel like it, rip the souls from little girls, and from now till kingdom come, the only thing you can count on in your existence is never understanding why."

An epic tale of Biblical proportions.

For centuries, a war has raged in Heaven. A faction of angels, envious of humanity and it's pesky souls, have moved against God, whilst others remian loyal. Only now, the battlefield has changed. No more is the war being waged in the heavens themselves, but on Earth itself. Christopher Walken plays no less a figure than The Angel Gabriel, forced to come to Earth to hunt for a soul that will bring an end to the War of Angels by breaking a stalemate that has lasted for centuries. Another angel, Simon, has hidden the soul in a place he hopes will remain a secret - the body of a young Native American Girl.

Steeped in religious mythology, with an apocalyptic overtone that is startling in its audacity, this is intelligent horror woth a delicious twist of blasphemy.
Liked it.
