Year:1998
Country of origin:USA
Director:Greg Spence
Genre:Angels abound
Starring:Christopher Walken, Jennifer Beals, Russell Wong
Rating:3/5
IMDB link:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118643/
Tagline:An evil force has declared war...
Favourite line:"I sang the first hymn when the stars were born."

Smaller scale continuation of the Biblically charged original, this sees Walken return as the Angel Gabriel, this time hunting for the unwitting host of a 'Nefilim', a human angel hybrid, that it is prophesised will bring an end to the war of angels, seeing victory go to the side of light as both sides unite.
Think The Star Child from V and you aren't a million miles away.
It tries its best to match the epic proportions of the original, and indeed, Gabriel's initial arrival back on Earth is effective enough, as the very earth itself cracks open and he is spat out, but that aside this is one of those rare cases where a bigger budget would have made a better movie.
The only other point of note is the presence of Glenn Danzig, he of Samhain and Danzig fame, two bands that will be arriving on these pages in the near future.
Overall then, not bad, but don't go out of your way to see it.
