Favourite line:"August 18, 1973. News of a bizarre, chainsaw wielding family - reports which were to ignite the world's imagination - began to filter out of central Texas. Regrettably not one of the family members was ever apprehended and for more than ten years nothing further was heard. Then, over the next several years at least two minor, yet apparently related incidents, were reported. Then again nothing. For five long years silence..."

Surprisingly good third sequel to the seventies classic.
Adding not a jot to the story, this is a simple continuation of past themes.

Bunch of youths find themselves knocking on the wrong door in the middle of the night after breaking down. From then on it is the usual blend of wood bound chases, scream scenes and misogynistic torture.

Effectively handled, with average acting for the style, this is a decent enough effort for the fourth outing of the franchise.
