Disappointingly dull sequel to the magnificent Ringu.

Sadako is back, still bloody annoyed at being imprisoned in the well for some thirty odd years, exacting her revenge through the medium of videotape: anyone who watches a certain piece of footage is doomed to die unless they show someone else the same video within a week.

It's creepy as Christ's own scrotum by the denouement but takes an awfully long time to get going, teetering perilously close to being dull by the half hour mark and, given that the movie is only just an hour and a half, that's too long to wait for something to happen.
Missing too is a truly eye-popping sequence that the original managed when Sadako first crawled from the TV screen, an iconic moment that any sequel would struggle to compete with.
Overall, not a bad movie, but crippled in many ways by the magnificence of its progenitor.
