Favourite line:"All his internal organs: gone."

Half decent sci-fi horror pastiche that is a touch on the tame side.

The plot:
City residents are dying, and some investigators believe it is the work of something known as the Trillion cult.
Ted Gage, recently returned to Los Angeles, is also on the hunt due to his younger brother's death in a massive explosion at his apartment.
To begin with the police have little interest in the case - despite the enormous fireball! - due to the fact that the younger brother was a suspected 'meth dealer. But what really killed Gage's younger brother?
And how are the military involved?
And who is controlling the cockroaches, really?

Vaguely silly, this comes across more like one of the more offbeat episodes of The X Files - War of the Coprophages, anyone?
With reasonable CGI effects, and actors that can actually, you know, act this is a cut above most low budget horror in terms of production values but lacks severely in terms of general darkness and gruel.
Feeling more televisual than cinematic, this sits rather awkwardly between the worlds of sci-fi and horror; sci-fi fans won't be satisfied by the science whilst horror fans just won't find it sick enough.
Still, far from awful, just very, very ordinary.
