Favourite line:"You know this place we're staying? Used to be part of an old Indian burial ground. It's very sacred and holy."

Sam Raimi's experimental short movie, in preparation for the full length The Evil Dead.
This is effectively a dry run for that movie, the only elements that are not present are the Necronomicon, the infamous 'tree rape' scene, and the more bizarre scenes, such as the ornaments and furniture becoming animated.
The plot is simple as a Dingle, involving a group of friends spending a weekend at a remote cabin (as in The Evil Dead).
One of them rather foolishly desecrates an ancient Indian burial site, wouldn't you know, and before long he's turned into a slavering zombie, hellbent on despatching all of his former friends.
The requisite top class make up is here, as is the spine chilling "Join Us!"
Extremely rare and hard to get hold of - the copy I've seen is a very dodgy rip from VHS which was clearly a third or fourth generation copy itself! - but, horror fiends, it is well worth the effort.
Excellent, excellent, excellent.
