Favourite line:"Shut up, you ugly bitch."

Gregory Peck stars as none other than Dr Josef Mengele, erstwhile 'Angel of Death', the chief scientist and demented experimentor of the Nazi regime.

It's the 1970's and an investigator in Paraguay discovers a plot to bring forth The Fourth Reich, a new era of Nazi reign.
Laurence Olivier plays a holocaust survivor, Ezra Lieberman whose research and investigation unearths the true nature of the plan - a cloning programme that will allow Adolf Hitler to rule the Nazi's once more.

It's a neat conciet, though not entirely original - The Tomorrow People had a similar storyline at roughly the same time, though admittedly their Hitler was an alien!!! - and it's played admirably straight down the line.
Nominated for 3 Oscars, this is intelligent stuff, and the acting, give or take the odd dodgy German accent, is of a particularly high standard.
It's quite plodding though, and never reaches a particularly satisfying conclusion.
Still, thoughtful and intriguing, this is a thinking man's thriller.
