Not many sequels manage to be superior to the originals from which they were spawned, but this is such an example.
A bigger budget equals bigger stunts and set pieces and, whilst that does not always equate to a better movie, in this case it surely does.
Max is now a wanderer, living a solitary existence, constantly searching for food and, that most precious of resources, petrol, without any sense of purpose. When he happens upon a small community who are being violently harassed by a biker gang he reluctantly becomes their only hope of salvation.

Stunning action scenes, great car / bike chases, and Mel in top form, this is a very good movie.
