Favourite line:"Oh look. My tax dollars at work, coming to arrest me."

After the riotous and, perhaps, surprising success of the first National Treasure movie, it seemed inevitable that a sequel would follow and, sure enough, Book of Secrets hit the screens in 2007, three years after the original.
The good news: the original cast are still around, as is the original director, usually a good sign in the perilous world of sequel production.
The bad news: Erm, there isn't really much bad news, save for an increase in fairly lame comedy moments that are roughly as amusing as having a sword fish snout rammed up your piss pipe.
That small grumble aside, this is more of the same, a knockabout family oriented action adventure with more than a touch of the Dan Brown about it.
Cage is perfectly fine, the old nag that he is and boy, he is looking rough around the edges all of a sudden and the rest of the cast, a veritable ensemble, are all more than adequate. The plot this time around centres around some gumph or other about the old stallion Cage's character Gates' great grandfather somehow bieng implicated in the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. Our heroes follow a trail of clues that lead them from America to Paris via London and back to The Oval Office to clear his name.
Absolute tosh, sure, but entertaining tosh along the way.
