One of those few shows that seems to invent a whole new language.
The sharp, ironic, postmodern dialogue, frequently referencing pop culture sources ("You were my Yoda, man") was a breath of fresh air at the time. This style of dialogue may well be sourced in things such as Beverly Hills 90210 but, frankly, that show is shite so I don't acknowledge its existence in any way ;-)
Buffy is a school drop out, unpopular, new at school, and nervous.
But she has a secret: She is the chosen one, and she alone has been selected by destiny to save the world from the forces of darkness.
A great ensemble cast, some sharp one liners, good plots, and a healthy dose of silliness mark this out as a great show.
Later series dwelled too much on the emotional side of things along the lines of 'Dawson's Crack', but apart from that this is hard to fault.
Beautiful teenagers fighting demons, zombies and werewolves.
Who could ask for more?!?
NOTE: No episode by episode synopsis for seasons 6 & 7 as I have only seen them once and, truthfully, can't see myself watching them again anytime soon.
Live with it, fuck-fiends
