Year:1990

Director:Francis Ford Coppola
Genre:Gangster flick

Rating:4/5
IMDB link:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099674/
Tagline:All the power on earth can't change destiny.
Favourite line:"I've lost the lust for women, and now my mind is clear."

Third and final of the epic gangster saga and, unfortunately, this one does not come even close to the intensity and passion of the first two installments.

Michael Corleone, Mafia don, is attempting to send the family business down a new path, that of honesty and legitimacy. Not all within the organisation are in favour though, especially young and ambitious upstart Vincent Mancini, played effectively by Andy Garcia.

This is a long movie and, unlike the first two, it really feels like it too.
A lusher production and more commercial feel to the movie undermine it somewhat, though Al Pacino is extraordinary as the ageing boss.
The first two movie's are essential viewing, this one is optional I'm afraid.
