Epic sci-fi / fantasy crossover which takes comic books and graphic novels as it's starting point, then runs with it.
We follow a group of apparently ordinary people who suddenly start to develop extraordinary powers:
Hiro: Bespectacled Japanese sort who can stop time, and teleport through time and space. Parkman: A police officer who can read minds.
Nathan: An up and coming politician who just happens to be able to fly.
Claire:: A Cheerleader who has the power to heal herself,. no matter how badly her body is damaged.
Niki: Split personality whose dark half manifests as a brutal, cold-blooded killer.
Peter: Nathan's brother, who has the ability to absorb the abilities of others.
Sylar: Sociopathic serial killer, who just happens to be an absorber, just like Peter.
With the cast assembled, the season's are treated as individual chapters, each self-contained, though with an underlying arc throughout.
Beautifully shot, with an interesting concept at it's heart, this is a quality TV show that perhaps takes itself a mite too seriously.
Still, entertaining enough.
