Favourite line:"Are you smoking this shit so's to escape from reality? Me, I don't need this shit. I am reality."

An awesome movie.
Immensely powerful, disturbing, upsetting, graphic, realistic, visceral, challenging, thought-provoking, politically charged, relevant.
Need any more?
Simply put, one of the best movies ever made.
Oliver Stone for once manages to rein in his self indulgent tendencies, and simply paints a blistering visual image of the highs and lows of life as a grunt in the Vietnam war. Inter-personal conflict, corruption, military criminality tolerated, and a real sense of moral conviction.
The direction is awesome, really making you feel as if you are in the battle sequences. A magnificent glimpse into the life of a grunt.
Quite simply - unmissable.
