Tagline:Steve Martin had no reason to panic...until John Candy came along.
Favourite line:Neal: "You can start by wiping that fucking dumb-ass smile off your rosey, fucking, cheeks! Then you can give me a fucking automobile: a fucking Datsun, a fucking Toyota, a fucking Mustang, a fucking Buick! Four fucking wheels and a seat!" Rental Agent: "I really don't care for the way you're speaking to me." Neal: "And I really don't care for the way your company left me in the middle of fucking nowhere with fucking keys to a fucking car that isn't fucking there. And I really didn't care to fucking walk down a fucking highway and across a fucking runway to get back here to have you smile in my fucking face. I want a fucking car RIGHT FUCKING NOW!"

Hilarious comedy of errors starring Steve Martin - when he was still reasonably funny - and John Candy who is just immense, in every sense of the word.

Martin is a business man, desperate to get back to his family for Christmas, whilst John Candy is a nice but unsuccessful individual who offers his assistance, but gets no thanks from the luckless Martin.

This is a comedy of situations, as anything that can possibly go wrong, does go wrong. The interaction between the two leads is fantastic, and you really acquire an affection for them by the end of the movie.
Some genuinely bowel bursting moments of comedy ensue - check the scene when Martin returns to a car hire firm when his car doesn't show up.
This is a great 80's comedy.
