The first thought that struck me when it was announced that there would be a Simpsons movie, and that it would be entirely animated was a simple one:
What's the point in that?
Let's dispense with the obvious cow / cash element and focus, instead, on whether watching The Simpsons at the movie theatre would in any way improve upon the experience of watching it in the comfort of your own bath.
And does it?
Well, I don't have a fucking clue, as I watched the Channel 4 broadcast whilst lounging in a pool of my own filthy water.

Essentially a triple length episode, this centres around the repercussions of Homer owning a pig. He loves his pig, apparently more than his own children and, like his offspring, the pig defecates.
A lot.
Unlike his children, however, the pig has not yet learnt how to use the toilet so, instead, all of its organic waste is stored in a big cylinder which Homer dispenses of by hurling into the already polluted city lake. When the area is declared a biological hazard, the government seals the town off by the medium of giant glass dome.
After that, it all starts to get a little silly....

Let's be honest, everyone knows what The Simpsons is so, if you love it, you'll love this, detest it, you'll detest this and if, like me, you sit somewhere in the middle, you'll watch it just to eek 87 more minutes towards your certain, painful death.
Enjoyably daft all round.
