Favourite line:"I love hitmen. No matter what you do to them, you don't feel bad."

Robert Rodriguez's adaptation of Frank Miller's graphic novel is a dark, violent, brutal affair.
Three interconnected plotlines interweave, both in terms of characters involved and timelines making it a dead cert multi-watch movie.
The direction is highly stylised, an attempt to bring to the screen the stylings of the graphic novel itself (I confess, I speak through reputation, not personal exposure as I have never set eyes upon the source material.)
The movie is shot mainly in black and white, the only colours visible throughout being primary and raw - reds, blues, and oranges to highlight bloodstains, police sirens etc - and the whole thing is lent an air of film noir, both in terms of lighting and dialogue.
It's bloodthirsty and unrelenting, and a triumph of mainstream extremism, if such a contradiction is possible.
Highly enjoyable.
