One of those movies that actually changes the way the movie industry operates.
Responsible for the creation of the phrase 'blockbuster' in relation to movies - the idea being that the queues for the cinema actually go around the block - and on top of all that, wholly responsible for a new breed of special effects movies.
The story is a familiar one, so I won't even begin to relay it but, suffice to say a movie everyone should watch at some point - and if you can, get hold of the originals before Lucas' ego got the better of him and he started fucking around with the effects.
A genuine classic.
