Favourite line:"Yes, it was the black guy, this time."

The latest 'real footage' movie, this time focusing on a triumvirate of teen twattlings.

The plot:
Three young men discover a hole in the ground, deep, from which is emanating a strange sound. Intrigued, the threesome venture into the hole, and discover a large crystalline structure which, when they emerge, appears to have imbued them with telekinetic powers.
The trio begin exploring the scope of their powers, playfully to begin with and, if anything, their powers seem to be getting stronger, the only side effect being the occasional runny nose.
When Andrew, the 'strongest' of the three, uses his powers with criminal intent, the good times come to an end, and the dark responsibility of superpowers emerges.

A really good set up this, making use of the documentary feel; each scene is as recorded through the lens of a camera, thus the title.
The leads give credible performances, especially Dane DeHaan as the troubled Andrew, all emotional trauma and bleakness of mind.
With a run time just over the eighty minute mark, this doesn't hang about, and brevity in movie making is something to be applauded.
Sci-fi superhero conventions inverted, then, and pretty damned effectively, too.
Really good.
