Favourite line:"If you don't move your hand you'll be dead any second."

Four years after the initial cockroach infestation, the bugs are back.

The plot:
School teacher cum entomologist Remi Panos becomes the focal point of a new breed of human-mimicking giant cockroaches, as a nest is set up at the school in which she works.

Straight to DVD fodder, this, so expect a down-scaling from the original, though not altogether a dip in form. Sure, the actors are more minor, the effects less impressive, the ick-factor toned down a touch, but the original was directed by Guillermo del Toro, so no way this was ever going to compete.
With del Toro on board, the first movie was artistic, atmospheric, almost as beautiful as it was horrid, where here we have a more straight-forward monster movie.
Nothing to complain about, nothing to get excited about, this is efficient creature-feature fare that certainly passed eighty five minutes pleasantly enough.
Decent.
