After seeing her mother viciously raped by, erm, a clown, a young woman is unsurprisingly rather troubled when the carnival rolls back into town several years later.
Playing on the notion that clowns are universally scary (they are. Fact) this never really gets going, and doesn't really seem to know whether it wants to be a creepy thirller or an out and out horror.
There's some disturbing imagery as the creepy circus folk are paraded before us like a cast of freaks, but that aside this has very little to offer.
A disappointing addition to Craven's admittedly always suspicious Executive Producer canon.
